What it is
What it covers
Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that is sprayed on in a thin layer and then cured. It is widely used where a thin, durable colored finish matters. Projekt Lab lists Cerakote among its services — ask whether it or powder coat is the better fit for your part.
- Parts where a thin film matters
- Small and detailed parts
- Color work alongside powder-coated parts
- Not sure? Ask which coating fits
Good to know
Before you bring it in
Cerakote goes on far thinner than powder coat, which can matter where parts have to fit tightly together.
Like powder coat, it needs clean, properly prepared metal underneath.
Its colors and finishes are not the same range as powder — ask what is available.
General guidance about the process — the shop will tell you what your part needs.
